Yo Mama's Lunchbox

At Yo Mama's Lunchbox, we believe that food is more than just nourishment—it’s a way to connect, share, and create lasting memories.

Meet the Chef

If cooking is an art form—carefully studied and lovingly created—then I am a toddler enthusiastically finger painting all over the freshly painted walls. And while I’d like to think I’m a prodigy, professionals tend to warn against the dangers of amateur ambition. I’ve never let that stop me of course, because according to Merriam-Webster, “amateur” comes from the French root meaning “lover”—and everyone knows love is the secret ingredient in every great dish. My kitchen has become a laboratory—experimenting with ingredients, making ridiculous hypotheses, limited only by grocery budgets. So, like the Mythbusters said, “The difference between screwing around and science, is writing it down,” and I make sure I always have a notebook on hand to take notes.  Perfection may not exist, but I’m determined to get as close as possible.

Since I’ve been cooking, I've boiled down the process to the three things any good Chopped champion needs to accomplish “A challenge judged on presentation, taste, and creativity.” And between my professional kitchen experience and extensive practice, food restrictions and allergies have become easy to navigate; and if they aren’t, then it becomes a personal challenge to defeat. Whether it's keto, gluten-free, or vegetarian, I don’t put down a recipe until I feel it's practically perfect. I make sure to take every precaution. At the end of the day, I want to serve fulfilling, nutritious meals that cover the food pyramid and ensure flavor.

The balance between measuring with your heart and measuring with your blood pressure in mind is a delicate one, but there will never be a guarantee of a perfectly healthy meal but these days, avoiding Uber Eats will do more for your health than the latest trending detox. Every recipe is crafted to nourish the body and satisfy the soul, carefully packed with love—so you have something to look forward to that doesn't cause you any extra stress during your busy day. We’re very aware that we will not always taste like your mother's cooking, but we will certainly try!

I like to feed my people, so if you’re here, then welcome to the family.
